2015
Her intricate project, “A non-Models Portfolio” is a series created by TrueMendous consisting of a Trilogy of 3 EP’s with 3 completely different sounds. Episode 1 “Whormonal Moodswings” was released on April 19th 2015.
2013 - 2014
2013/2014 was an incredible year for TrueMendous as she opened up for Hip-Hop’s very own Capone-N- Noreaga in Bristol, the UK’s most hardworking female mc Lady Leshurr in Camden (aswell as in her tour) and the most anticipated ILUVLIVE in Birmingham. Selected by BBC, TrueMendous was one of the 8 chosen Artists out of the entire UK to take part in DJ Targets BBC 1xtra “Battle of the Bands” competition in Maida Vale Studios. Not only was she the first member of her team to win her battle in front of a panel consisting of: Ghetts, Etta Bond and Trevor Nelson but they also
awarded her MVP out of all 8 musicians.
BBC 1xtra also put on a Grime and Hip-Hop Cypher at a later date which took place in “The Drum” Birmingham. TrueMendous was the only Artist who had a section of her performance featured in the 1xtra Presents “I Am Birmingham” documentary out of a male dominated line-up. She was also one of the mc’s who managed to gain recorded radio play on DJ Cameo’s “Gimme Grime” session from the cypher. Publically unreleased music from TrueMendous has been constantly played throughout a mixture of radio stations by DJ’s including: DJ Target and Trevor Nelson (BBC), Smooth Fuego (New Style Radio) and DJ Biggoss (Hot92).
Freestyle videos have also accumulated across various media channels including SB.TV, JDZ Media
and P110 Media.
This 23 year old Artist from Birmingham has already released a full body of work in her debut Mixtape “The Autistic Librarian” (April 14th 2014). The mixtapes reception was remarkable. The CD consists of 17 detailed stories focusing on the reality of women lost within their inner self. Accustom to vulnerability, pain and love. (It’s free to download on datpaff.com). Not only has she written outstanding hooks for local singers but this diverse young lady can single
handily write and create magic over: hip-hop, boom bap, grime, neo soul, funk and spoken word pieces. She has already collaborated with over 15 upcoming musicians and producers so far. Over the period of a few months TrueMendous was selected to help deliver a poem writing Workshop to young girls in Newport Wales alongside Euro DJ and engineer Jamie Winchester.
NO ONE can predict what she is about to do before she does it. If you don’t believe me…check her out. When it comes to live performances whether it be: an acapella, with a live band or rapping to a PA disk, TrueMendous is one you can’t fault. Her energy complimented by her clarity and projection on the mic really do work hand in hand providing the audience with an unforgettable performance.
